Lord's Resistance Army: The Most Confusing Rebel Group that US want be suppressed

By Edward Kinabo

Hi, the World.

How tough is the Uganda's Lord's Resistance Army, such that President, Barack Obama announced to help President Yoweri Museveni, to suppress it? What exactly this rebel group fighting for in Uganda, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, and in parts of Central Africa?

It was made clear last week that 100 US soldiers will be deployed soon to the East African country, to coach the native soldiers on how to suppress completely the long undefeated rebel army, which has survived over 24 years, since their leader Joseph Kony formed it.

I believe that deploying these U.S. armed forces furthers U.S. national security interests and foreign policy, and will be a significant contribution toward counter-LRA efforts in central Africa,"wrote Obama in his letter to John Boehner (Speaker of the US assembly)as quoted by BBC.

The Obama's letter content mainly alleged the rebel group to have violated human rights and victimized more than 380,000 people. The very same claims that said by US when sent troops in Iraq and into many other countries of the world.

Throughout the years, the LRA has been ambushing civilians, brutalizing and taking them as sexual captives (women)and forcing boys to be new soldiers in fighting against Uganda government, people of South Sudan, Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Whats more interesting about this rebel army, is the confusing mission and ideology they are fighting for? Throughout different sources of information and news, nobody knows for sure yet, what is a focused objective of this rebel group.

Majority think Joseph Kony's group is fighting for power, that is, to overthrow the Museveni's government and start a new christian regime, whose ideological constitution will be the Ten Commandments of God found in the holy bible.

But other analysts say no, this is not a christian movement. If so why are making sins of violating human rights like raping, killing, and enslaving women for sexual purposes? And here they refer to the John Ochola's testimony for BBC in 2006, who was chopped hands, ears and nose by the LRA, such he is know a handcapped man.

Instead, they say the group is fighting to restore the Acholi tribe' nationalism and make it govern Uganda. Acholi is the tribe of Joseph Kony ( the leader).

However, if that the case, why fighting in more than one place -Uganda, South Sudan, Democractic Republic of Congo and Central Africal. How can Acholi's nationalism be restored everywhere, in the four countries?

No matter what, this is a very confusing rebel group, with a very confusing ideological mission, ever happened in Africa and the World at large. Lets wait for US mission, may be the real mission of LRA will be revealed.
